Airport Transfers
Methven Travel
Methven Travel provides regular transport services to and from Methven and Christchurch International Airport and surrounding hotels along with the Mt Hutt Ski Bus and a pick up service for Te Araroa trail walkers.
During the winter ski season, a daily shuttle service as follows:
- Methven to Christchurch Airport – 7 days
12.30 pm | Arrives at Christchurch Airport at 1.45 pm - Christchurch Airport to Methven – 7 days
10.00 am | Arrives at Methven at 11:15 am
From October 14 the Summer Timetable starts and transfers operate on a casual basis.
You will need to contact them direct to discuss your requirements.
Snow Shuttles
Mt Hutt Ski Bus
Methven Travel provide daily transport to Mt Hutt Ski Area from Methven during the winter period.
- Methven to Mt Hutt Ski Bus Schedule: Departs Methven
– 7:45 a.m. arrives at Mt Hutt approx. 8:30 a.m.
– 9:45 a.m. arrives at Mt Hutt approx. 10:30 a.m.
– 11:30 a.m. (weekends and school holidays only) arrives at Mt Hutt approx. 12.15 p.m.
Departs Mt Hutt3:00pm departs Mt Hutt and arrives Methven approx 3.45pm (subject to numbers)
4.15pm departs Mt Hutt and arrives Methven approx 5pm
Snowman Shuttles
Snowman Shuttles operates services to Mt Hutt from Christchurch every day the mountain is open. They depart the Christchurch Bus Interchange at 7:00am with additional pick up locations at Church Corner, and Rolleston.

Snow Express provides private group transport, ski transfers and airport transfers in Methven and Canterbury.

Snowfed Newspaper
The much-loved paper copy of the Snowfed is delivered each week, free, to over 2,000 households from the Rakaia Gorge to Methven, along the Foothills to Mayfield, follows the South Branch of the Hakatere Ashburton River to the edge of Ashburton, up the west side of State Highway One to the edge of Rakaia and back along the river to the Rakaia Gorge.
Snowfed is believed to be the only newspaper in the Southern Hemisphere owned by a local college – Mt Hutt College. All of our advertising rates are community rates and our small profit margins go back into supporting the educational goals of Mt Hutt College.
In 2026, Snowfed celebrated 40 years of community news, having come a long way from it’s humble beginnings – it continues to be committed to the Methven and Foothills communities. Our circulation is now the largest in Snowfed’s history.
